Railroad Yard, Kent Wa

This is my first mural!

I created this mural in 2006 for the city of Kent, as a public artwork. The imagery is inspired by a railroad yard in Ballard, that curves around a bend at the end of the line. This design is part of my shipping container series which launched my career as a muralist. The mural was created on 4 x 8 foot panels and installed on an aluminum rail system. Over its 15-year lifespan, the panels began to deteriorate. The city loved the mural and asked me to paint it again on a different wall (see Railroad Park Mural #2)
